Position Summary:

The primary focus of this position is the provision of supervision and clinical instruction for graduate student clinicians providing services related to the screening, evaluation, management, prevention, and rehabilitation of speech, language, and feeding disorders, for clients across the lifespan. Additionally, coordination with other faculty, staff, off-campus supervisors, and direct service provision may be part of the duties of this position.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite.
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills.
  • Ability to provide clinical instruction and supervision and to perform screening, assessment, intervention, and related tasks as delineated in the ASHA Scope of Practice in Speech-Language Pathology.
Physical Demands:

  • Sitting, talking, walking, hearing, and use of hands to figure/handle objects, tools, controls and keyboards.
  • Occasionally stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance and lift up to 25 pounds.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Instructs and supervises graduate students in speech-language pathology clinical practicum in the on-campus clinic or off campus placements.
  • Monitors and evaluates student progress, provides oral and written feedback, and conducts conferences with students and other supervisors as specified in departmental procedures and as needed for student's level of performance.
  • Completes student formative assessment procedures.
  • Provides or assumes responsibility for provision of quality clinical services to screen, evaluate, and treat clients of all ages with speech, language, voice, resonance, hearing, and swallowing disorders, as appropriate for experience and training.
