Description:
Our Aerospace & Defense client is seeking a SOFTWARE ENGINEERING LEAD in Colorado Springs, CO - this is a DIRECT-HIRE opportunity, NOT a contract position.

The Software Engineering Lead will be responsible for the technical oversight of the sustainment and development of software products for a satellite communication program. The ideal candidate will work closely with the system engineering core team members and coordinate the internal team plans, milestones and schedules. You will be the primary technical point of contact with our internal and external customers for the program.
This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities.
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software.
• Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle.
• Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance (will consider Secret level but must be able to obtain a TS)
• B.S. degree and 9+ years of experience, or M.S. degree and 7+ years of experience
• Strong software development and project leadership experience
• Software estimation experience
• Agile Methodologies experience
• Systems engineering background and understanding of new requirements

These qualifications would be nice to have:

• Military Satellite Communication experience
• Algorithm development
• Software technical review boards

Schedule: 9/80 schedule is available

Pay range: $110k-$175k (full benefits available)
