Job Description Summary:
What you need to know about the role-
Our Payments Partner Experience team is looking for a strong and well-rounded engineer with an investigative mind, great troubleshooting/debugging skills and strong customer focus. The ideal candidate will have great analytical and problem-solving skills, in depth knowledge on latest technologies, sense of ownership of the application stack, and ability to self-learn.

Take your technical skills to the next level with the Payments Partner Experience team at PayPal. This team is responsible for responding and solving any backend and partner critical production issues.

Job Description:

Your way to impact:

  • Triage and Resolve issues with very little help or direction and show command and expertise in various PayPal products.
  • Communicate effectively and demonstrate resourcefulness and ability in accessing impacts and facilitating faster resolution to delight customers.
  • Provide valuable Issue Intelligence for the major issues: By Identifying applications, monitoring, process, and product gaps and propose [short-term] implement solutions to address them. Drive long term solutions with technology/product teams when appropriate.
  • Be proactive in suggesting permanent solutions for various site related issues.
  • Identify opportunities for engineer productivity improvements or directions and evangelize them successfully.
  • Work well within a team and contribute effectively to the success of those that you interact with regularly.

Your day to day:
  • Triage and troubleshoot issues for PayPal products and applications on the live site.
  • Work with product development teams and various business groups to prioritize, identify and develop reliability and supportability improvements.
  • Work with Site Operation, Command Center, Partner and technical teams to address sites issues.

What do you need to bring:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience in developing, troubleshooting/debugging complex multi-tier applications
  • Experience in operational detection/monitoring activities and exposure to P0/P1 incident management activities
  • Work with product development teams and various business groups to prioritize, identify and develop reliability and supportability improvements.
  • Interact and participate with the various PD organizations in forums such as conferences and workshop.
  • 2+ years of software development experience in Java
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, Unix/Linux, Git, Jira, Service Now
  • Scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python, Javascript) a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
