Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, motivated Software Development Quality Assurance Engineer to support the Infotainment organization in the quality analysis of various infotainment features while the feature is being developed. Candidate will have an opportunity to implement various white box and black box testing strategies across multiple Infotainment components both at application as well as framework level. The successful candidate will embody GM behaviors and competencies; Be proficient in understanding embedded development environments and be able to actively code; Work in team and building strong relationships; passionate about software development and its quality; familiar with tools in Android and embedded application software. Be nimble to change as we adopt agile methodologies in the Software organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all necessary testing activities within assigned software projects
  • Work with teams to identify and resolve issues
  • Create and update test plan, ensuring test cases are traceable to requirements
  • Develop and execute test scripts and test cases across multiple platforms and builds
  • Report and log issues into a bug tracking system, including track files and necessary steps to recreate
  • Collaborate with external third-party partners and suppliers in the timely investigation, root cause, and resolution of issues
  • Work to ensure assigned testing tasks are completed on time
  • Ensure status and communication reports are detailed, comprehensive and accurate
  • Ability to understand software requirements and software architectures
  • Display excellent customer service with customers
  • Complete in-vehicle testing

Additional Job Description

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience testing software applications
  • Previous test experience with real-time or embedded application
  • Understanding of automotive protocols like CAN/LIN/Broad R Reach
  • Understanding of tools to capture and analyze automotive communication
  • Familiarity with any of the following languages: C/C++, Java, Perl or Python, Windows and Unix shell scripts

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience testing infotainment software applications
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Operating system knowledge of Android
