Summary

The Social Media & Digital Specialist assists in managing the university's primary social media channels and the implementation of its social and strategy. In conjunction with the Associate Director, Social & Digital Media, this position will be responsible for helping to create and produce digital and online content for university communications and marketing. This position will support crisis and issues communications through social monitoring. This position will create regular social analytics reports for social channels, along with assisting in the proposal and implementation of digital campaigns.

Required Qualifications

*Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills*Experience in business account management for all social media channels including Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube*Excellent knowledge of current social media best practices*Proficient in digital content creation*Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to learn software programs with ease*Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage projects, and meet established deadlines.*Ability to interact professionally with individuals of diverse backgrounds externally and internally at all levels of the organization*Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion*Ability to work in a team structure and environment*Ability to take on responsibilities outside of the job description.*Demonstrated analytical and time management skills*Excellent customer service skills*Ability and willingness to work on weekends and evenings, as required or requested

Preferred Qualifications

* Social media expertise, including experience using social media scheduling platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.* Paid media experience (Facebook Ad Manager, Instagram ads)* Project management platform experience (AirTable, Asana, Smartsheet, etc)* Online content creation* Video creation and production* Web-based communication experience
