How You'll Add Value...

We are seeking a highly motivated and willing to learn Sr. Payroll Administrator who will report directly to the Sr. Payroll Manager. This position is part of a global payroll team and will have an instrumental role in ensuring accuracy with current payroll processes and implementing process improvements with a focus on accuracy and quality of employee service.

What You'll Do...

Payroll:

  • Process biweekly US multi-state payroll (exempt & non-exempt) via Workday for approximately 1400 employees and provide support to payroll manager.
  • Assist with processing payroll information including time and attendance detail, payroll settlements, off cycle checks and employee record maintenance. Work with HR to ensure new hires, terminations and retroactive processing requests are input timely and accurate. Handle escalated employee payroll related questions and concerns from managers.
  • Review post-payroll activities such as vendor integrations, general ledger postings, bank funding, and reconciliation activities. Perform audits and analyze reports to identify and resolve payroll, compliance and/or disbursement issues.
  • Oversee development of payroll process and procedure documentation and training documentation.
  • Act as a resource within payroll and to other departments and outside vendors regarding general payroll processes and reporting. Serve as payroll point of contact within the company regarding payroll taxes, equity plans, retirement contributions, benefit deductions, unemployment insurance and commissions.
  • Assist as backup support to global pay processors in multiple countries on an as needed basis.

Payroll Accounting/Tax;
  • Perform accounting/general ledger functions as it relates to payroll compensation, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and other month-end close functions.
  • Review all quarterly and annual tax filings prepared by vendor, including W-2 forms, addressing any exceptions and errors prior to finalization.
  • Be responsible for regulatory compliance requirements including state and local tax registrations, notice resolution, and ensuring correct setup of taxes in Workday.

Audit
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure successful quarterly payroll audits. Participate in other payroll related audits, including annual 401(k) and workers' compensation.

What you will Bring...
  • 5+ years of Workday Payroll experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience,
  • Current working knowledge of Workday Reporting, Payroll, Time Tracking, GL and Expense modules. Integration and project management experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multi-state and federal labor laws, pay practices and policies; experience with Canadian payroll preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving/critical reasoning and judgement skills, high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion regarding sensitive data
  • Produce deliverables and calculations that are high quality and accurate
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional business partnering skills, with demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and at various levels within a company.
  • Ability to work independently and to prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
