Role Description

The Senior Operations Manager actively manages key functions within the PAH business aligned to strategic and commercial goals. Leverages role within the business and in the PAH Leadership Team to provide guidance on commercial and operational management to defined business goals. Supervises billing functions across PAH services. Supervises quality functions governing the Genetics laboratory including support for relevant accreditations and maintenance of quality management systems. Coordinates at a high-level all activities of the PAH Leadership Team and tracking of defined strategic priorities and projects.

Responsibilities

The major job duties will include but are not limited to:

  • As a member of the PAH Leadership team, provide operational insight and strategic thinking to assist in high level decision making
  • Manage a team of exempt and non-exempt colleagues
    • Ensure administrative tasks such as timecards and time-off requests are completed.
    • Ensure regular one-on-one meetings are undertaken to review performance and ensure the business is supporting their needs and development plan.
  • Coordinate operational aspects of the PAH Leadership Team including driving the agenda for recurring meetings and project management activities aligned against strategic and operating plan objectives
  • Develop, implement, and maintain management and KPI dashboards and scorecards
  • Proactively analyze and interpret commercial and operational trends in the business to identify strategies and tactics to enhance performance
  • Develop presentations for senior management on Forecasts and Operating Plan. Responsible for presenting to broader PAH groups as needed at PAH town halls, lunch and learns, etc.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert representing the PAH business within interdisciplinary committees and sub teams across Zoetis as assigned
  • Quantify the business case associated with proposed investments in the business, influence senior leadership in Finance and associated functions to gain endorsement of prioritized projects, and actively monitor business and financial impacts of capital allocation strategies.
  • Assist in management of internal business partner relationships including Finance, Technology & Digital, Legal, and Human Resources
  • Responsible for routine management reporting (daily, monthly, quarterly, YTD) and its variance analysis for actual results versus plan, forecast, and prior year.
  • Lead, in collaboration with PAH department heads, the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Ensure strategies are in place to meet Operating Expense targets and track Operating Expenses against the Budget/Forecasts
  • Responsible for controlling expenses and costs, including (but not limited to), contracts, purchases, POs, and vendors
  • Lead continuous improvement of operational processes related to the PAH Business in the context of Quality Management Systems.
  • Management of the billing and quality teams. This includes guiding/assisting direct reports, promoting colleague development, performance monitoring, time tracking and other people management-related tasks
  • Lead, in collaboration with other LT members, initiatives designed to enhance customer experience and satisfaction

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is required
  • MBA is preferred

Experience
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant operations, financial management, and analysis experience.
  • Experience in Quality Management is a plus.
  • Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Applications such as Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
