OVERVIEW:

Year Up is seeking a highly organized, technically savvy Senior Marketing Manager, Special Projects to help build the marketing infrastructure we need to dramatically scale our service to young adults.

The Senior Marketing Manager, Special Projects will take the lead on management of strategic marketing systems projects. These range from building new online platforms to creating and automating digital communications streams for prospective students, and typically involve collaboration across Marketing, IT, and Program teams. The Manager will coordinate across owners of various technologies, business processes, and internal stakeholders drive these projects to completion and ensure their potential to support scalability is realized.

To be successful in this role, you'll be highly organized, with a passion for making order from chaos. You'll bring strong project management experience, familiarity with marketing technology, and ability to communicate effectively across departments. Strong candidates should also bring a commitment to advancing social justice and be prepared to keep Year Up's mission as the central driver of their work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management and Analysis

  • Clarify and document goals, deliverables, and scope for strategic marketing systems projects
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and manage projects along set timelines and budgets
  • Develop detailed requirements, source technical/vendor support, and conduct analysis as needed
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across Marketing, IT, Program, and potentially additional teams to ensure clarity on deliverables as well as overall project status
  • Track all action items to completion
  • Identify and ensure mitigation of risks and issues
  • Define, track, and report out on metrics for success for each project
  • Ensure strong documentation of all project phases and deliverables
  • Additional duties as assigned

National Team/Learning Community Member

  • Serve as a coach/mentor for a small number of current students
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-6 years' project management or business analyst experience, preferably in marketing technology
  • Experience with website development and e-mail marketing automation programs (WordPress, Marketo, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of brand consistency across a variety of media
  • Aptitude for and interest in collaborating with team to develop new marketing campaigns and opportunities for customer engagement
  • A passion for working with young adults, an unshakable belief in their potential, and a strong commitment to the mission of Year Up
  • Understanding of the Opportunity Divide and its drivers

Salary Range - $75,000 - $90,000

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Year Up has established salary ranges for each of our sites, which allows us to pay employees competitively, equitably and consistently in different geographic markets. For roles in which the location is listed as flexible, the range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Salary offers take into account a candidate's skills, experience, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive healthcare options and dental coverage; 401(k) match for eligible participants.
  • Vacation: Earn three weeks paid vacation in first year of employment; four weeks after initial year.
  • Professional Development: Funds available to support staff in achieving career objectives ($2,500 per year)
