RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting in Reston, VA.Summary:The client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Technical Accounting. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all technical accounting matters within the organization, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements. The Senior Manager of Technical Accounting will play a critical role in supporting various financial initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and complex financial transactions.Duties include:- Provide technical accounting guidance and support to various departments within the organization
- Research and interpret complex accounting issues and provide recommendations for resolution
- Evaluate the accounting implications of new accounting standards and regulatory changes, and implement necessary updates
- Lead the implementation and adoption of new accounting pronouncements, such as ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Lease Accounting)
- Review and analyze financial statements and disclosures to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, and External Auditors, to support business initiatives and transactions
- As a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting, you will prepare technical accounting memos and documentation to support accounting conclusions and positions
- Lead and mentor a team of technical accounting professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities
- Support external audit processes by providing documentation and explanations related to technical accounting matters
- Participate in due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA required; Master's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting roles
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software (e.g., Costpoint, Hyperion, and Cognos)
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
