Job Description Summary:
At PayPal, we have built a Paid Media Center of Excellence to provide central oversight and governance over paid media channels. We are actively seeking a search and affiliates expert to lead our COE to centralize these channels and oversee our agency team. This individual needs to be solution-oriented and self-motivated to transform these media channels. This role will ensure best practices are in place and PayPal paid media principles are disciplined across all campaigns.

This person will also be responsible for thought leadership as it pertains to industry changes in the search and affiliates landscape, actively identifying solutions to evolve with them. The COE lead will be responsible for driving publisher partnerships with core search and affiliates partners.

This person will be responsible for demonstrating transformation for the channels from a segment-led approach to a centrally governed channel. This individual will be accountable for driving connectivity back to the segment teams to ensure the search and affiliates programs ladder back to business priorities. This person will also drive synergy with SEO and ASO teams to drive holistic search strategy. This person will also be responsible for driving collaboration with cross-functional partners across Analytics, Martech, and Marketing Ops to enable solutions to strengthen these media channels.

This individual must have a proven track record of success and will be responsible for taking ownership of this channel.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees paid search, app search, and affiliate channel strategy and best practices
  • Directly manages agency partner executing paid, app search, and affiliate media
  • Stays updated with the latest industry trends and identifies new opportunities to drive optimal campaign performance
  • Drives connectivity with Media Segment Leads who manage holistic media budget and briefs
  • Drives centralization and transformation roadmap for the paid search and affiliate channels
  • Guides publisher partner relationships with core channels partners (i.e. Google, Microsoft, Apple, Partnerize)
  • Drives capabilities playbook and topline roadmap for the search affiliate channels
  • Drives testing and experimentation agenda with analytics
  • Partners with SEO/ASO teams on driving holistic search strategies
  • Provides cadenced updates to the full marketing org and leadership teams on search and affiliates program health and industry changes
  • Implements practices to streamline workflows, drive efficiency, and foster growth for channels
  • Partners with Analytics to build quarterly experimentation roadmaps for incrementality, optimization, and creative testing
  • Partners with Martech and Media Ops to drive solutions forward to strengthen paid media measurement and platform signals

Required Skills
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a specific focus on paid search and affiliates marketing.
  • In-depth knowledge of the paid search and affiliates landscape
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset to draw out actionable insights and make data-backed decisions
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective paid search strategies aligned with core business objectives.
  • Experience in managing an agency team, including planning, prioritization, and guidance
  • Track record of working with external vendors and internal partners, e.g. media and creative agencies.
  • 3+ years experience in working cross-functionally with analytics/martech teams
  • Comfortable with communicating and pitching growth opportunities to segment and leadership teams
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Self-starter that can drive initiatives but knows when/how to escalate risks/blockers when necessary
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint, and Google Analytics
  • Excellence in stakeholder management, and the ability to juggle projects and business priorities across a variety of segments.
  • Understanding of the financial services, financial tech, and payments industry / ecosystem a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
