The Role

The Sr Lead Product Manager (PM) Public Sector is an overall owner for a set of service offerings that solve business and technology problems in a model valued by Public Sector customers. This position is focused on managing and evolving the Lumen Edge Compute suite of products. This senior product management professional is able to understand segmented customer requirements and the landscape of competitive options each customer may consider.  The PM and their cross-functional team of development and operational resources must design a set of product features & functionality which can achieve growth, adapt to evolving market needs, and facilitate profitable multi-cloud managed services for the company.
 
Edge Compute is a suite of products across many private and public clouds.  It facilitates customer IT transformation by orchestrating the delivery of infrastructure, applications from a single interface.  Edge Compute provides discovery of existing workloads, modeling of workloads, application lifecycle management, consolidated billing, cloud optimization, analytics, and more. It also integrates with Lumens adaptive connectivity services to secure clouds and data centers. Lumen offers a portfolio of application driven cloud management services that are delivered via a government compliant orchestration platform. In addition to developing service that meets government security requirements there is also the responsibility to ensure the solutions will operate activities along with advanced services of design, optimization, security, and cloud estate governance.

The Main Responsibilities

The Senior Lead Public Sector Product Manager for Edge Compute Platform will have product management responsibility for all public sector aspects of the platform, and will partner closely with enterprise edge compute product management:


·         SaaS-model and dedicated appliance deployments
·         Platform feature and customer experience expansion including evolving automation, application performance management, and artificial intelligence
·         Integration with other Lumen platforms including Cloud Connect, Network Storage, and Security Log Monitoring
·         Integration with 3rd party tools in areas of optimization, application performance management, and artificial intelligence
·         Compatibility with a growing set of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Lumen Cloud, and Private Cloud on VMware Cloud Foundation
·         Expanding set of MSP certifications with the most prominent public cloud platforms
·         Profitable resale of AWS and Azure IaaS
·         Expansion of geographic availability
·         Platform KPIs and Demo Environments
·         User enablement content and overall sales enablement obtain physical and environmental standards for Lumen storage environments

·         Oversee profitability of the Public Sector platform
·         Optimize commercial options with 3rd party cloud providers
·         Maintain and evolve platform business case as a living document
·         Drive platform execution to attain its goals as set forth in the business case and financial forecasts

·         Act as primary business owner for the Public Sector Edge Compute platform and related integrated customer experiences with other platforms
·         Define desired customer experience for expanding platform capabilities
·         Ensure alignment with cross functional stakeholders including development, operations, sales, marketing, legal, regulatory, etc.
·         Develop assets to assist sales teams in understanding the customer benefits the platform delivers, and how to consultatively position layer managed services and solutions
·         Support sales and marketing resources with information regarding customer benefits, market differentiation, and overall value proposition
·         Support field sales and engineering for qualified opportunities by assessing customization or feature feasibility
 

What We Look For in a Candidate

·         Bachelor's degree in technology, business, or engineering discipline, MBA preferred
·         10+ years of relevant IT services experience; with at least 3 years working with cloud services
·         3+ years in a product management role
·         5+ years’ experience within a Public Sector (Federal and State & Local) role preferred
·         Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
·         Demonstrated knowledge of Federal security standards such as FedRAMP and CMMC and laws such as FISMA.
