Lead Electrical Power Generation Engineer

As a Lead Electrical Power Generation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of existing power generation systems. Your expertise will be essential in upgrading and enhancing these systems to meet modern standards and optimize performance. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, power distribution, and control systems.

Responsibilities:

  • System Assessment and Upgrades:
  • Evaluate existing power generation equipment, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
  • Identify areas for improvement, efficiency enhancement, and reliability upgrades.
  • Develop and implement plans for system upgrades, retrofits, and replacements.
  • Power Distribution and Protection:
  • Analyze power distribution networks within existing facilities.
  • Design and implement protective relaying schemes to enhance system reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Motor Controls and Automation:
  • Oversee motor control systems, including variable speed drives and servo motors.
  • Optimize motor performance and efficiency.
  • Implement automation solutions for seamless operation.
  • Substation Management:
  • Maintain and upgrade high-voltage substations.
  • Collaborate with utility companies to ensure smooth integration with the grid.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve substation-related issues.
Project Leadership:
  • Lead cross-functional teams in power generation & power plant upgrade projects.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, civil, etc.) to achieve project goals.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's or University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Experience:
    • Previous work on system upgrades and retrofits.
    • Exposure to wind, solar, BESS is a plus.
