Summary:

The Senior IT Security Engineer functions as an expert in Information Security and develops/designs/administers systems to ensure the organization s information is safeguarded.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 6+ yrs of experience in information security related roles
  • SSO administration
  • Firewall administration
  • Performs audits to ensure backup are complete per the data recovery and disaster recovery polices
  • Vulnerably Scan administration, including scheduling the scans and producing reports. Works with the IT Infrastructure team to ensure vulnerabilities are patched.
  • Endpoint Protection and Response administration, including auditing that all devices are covered
  • SEIM administration, including auditing that all devices are covered. Ensure audit trails, system logs and other monitoring data sources are reviewed periodically and comply with policies and audit requirements.
  • Research the latest in information technology security trends to keep up to date with the subject and use the latest technology to protect information
  • Investigates security breaches to determine impact and works to full resolution. Active member of the incident response team.
  • Manage security issues and incidents and participates in problem and change management forums. Ensuring timely reporting and adequate participation in investigation of incidents.
  • Maintain a knowledgebase comprising a technical reference library, security advisories and alerts, information on security trends and practices, and laws and regulations.
  • Attend the Information Safeguard Committee meetings, including providing presentations as to the state of our security posture. Provide regular reporting on the current status of the information security program to enterprise risk teams, senior business leaders and the board of directors as part of a strategic enterprise risk management program.
  • Liaise corporate compliance, audit, legal and HR management teams as required.
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as law enforcement and other advisory bodies as necessary, to ensure that the organization maintains a strong security posture.
  • Maintains the company s adherence to technology requirements for security & privacy.
  • Performs other duties as outlined in individual objectives.
  • May act as a lead of first-level supervisors to other Analysts or similar positions.

Education and/or Experience: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED. Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Information Security training/certifications preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before managers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent time management, decision making, prioritization and organization skills. Working knowledge of antivirus and firewall solutions. Proven technical aptitude and proven customer service aptitude.
