Summary:
Performs employee/labor relations duties with senior expertise and independence. Participates in and facilitates the resolution of complex employee and labor relations issues and gathers related information. Advises, counsels and trains supervisors and managers. Serves as liaison between management and union representatives to address complex workplace issues and grievances. Works with managers to address issues of employee misconduct, poor performance, and poor attendance. Conducts complex workplace investigations and administers disciplinary action, as appropriate. Receives workplace complaints from employees and facilitates resolution, as necessary. Administers other processes under purview of Employee & Labor Relations Office, including performance evaluation process, probation report process, and unemployment process. Provides advice and guidance to ELR Administrator(s) in the performance of their duties.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

1. Master's degree or other relevant advanced degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in employee and labor relations; or
2. Bachelor's Degree and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in an appropriate Human Resources related field.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have a Master's or other professional degree in a related field. Relevant certification, such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP. At least 5 years of full-time experience conducting workplace investigations in a unionized environment. At least 5 years of full-time human resources experience in the public sector and/or healthcare. At least 5 years of full-time experience providing advice to managers on workplace matters. At least 5 years of full-time experience resolving workplace grievances. Strong communication skills, including writing skills.
