The Senior Director, Data Analytics will be a key strategic leader in the International Operations organization and sits within International Leverage, utilizing advanced analytics to inform and drive operations. This role is a customer insights & analytics department focused on understanding and identifying similarities and differences in the customer base to inform business strategy, identifying opportunities, and influence decisions. Your team will support the organization by providing analytics, operational, strategic, and BI (Business Intelligence) support along with driving automation through embedding and developing algorithms to drive optimization.

This exciting and highly visible opportunity is a customer insights and analytics department Senior Director position focused on understanding and identifying similarities and differences in the customer base to inform business strategy, identifying opportunities, and influence decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzing macro trends
  • Custom research such as developing attitude and usage studies, linking brand tracking, and analyzing behavioral data to unlock synergies and differences across markets for key stakeholders to advance go-to market strategies.
  • Ability to support the understanding of market operational KPIs (key performance indicators) and connecting the dots to areas of constructive collaboration/leverage and areas of growth.

Leadership Expectations:
  • Proficient in designing and executing research studies, both independently and in partnership with external partners
  • Analyze large sets of disparate data to share recommendations with key leaders to drive actions.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze macro trends and conduct custom attitude and usage studies.

  • You build trust quickly & lead by influence...creating sustainable business impact through cross-functional partnership, as well as end-to-end ownership of analytical projects and deliverables, including capturing incremental value added.
  • You understand how customers shop online... and use strategic thinking and innovation to create a truly frictionless online shopping experience and help drive our eCommerce business through developing and embedding streamlined and automated workflows.
  • You're a visionary... constantly looking for ways to set us apart from the competition, driving new and enhanced functionality to make the shopping experience easy and convenient.

You'll make an impact by:
  • Business Partnerships: Providing consulting expertise and acting as a subject matter expert to senior functional leadership (e.g., VPs, SVPs, EVPs); articulating the needs of current and future customers to executive leadership. Developing, reviewing, and influencing business strategies and integrating customer strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Project Scope: Defining and developing scope for analytics within site operations through developing and managing Analytics roadmap. Ensuring solution and analytical plans reflect business priorities.
  • Model Development: Overseeing the development and implementation of data and analytics models for all projects within site operations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align modeling solutions with business priorities and strategies.
  • Proof of Concept and Prototype: Directing the implementation of production-ready complex algorithms for all projects. Developing the testing and validation methodology and processes. Presenting production-ready algorithms to cross-functional partners (e.g., software engineering, category management) to gain buy-in.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Directing analysis of business issues, considering team structures and iteration models needed to develop innovative solutions. Partnering with leadership across all analytics functions to define the data analysis strategies based on business priorities.
  • People Development: Ensuring associates receive learning and development opportunities (e.g., training, mentoring) for the good of the associate and Walmart. Coaching team members and providing feedback to enhance skills, knowledge, and work performance. Mentors less experienced associates and managers. Identifying new and emerging skills needed by Advanced Analytics associates.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 6 years'
experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics,
Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science,
statistics, or related field. Option 3: 8 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
3 years' supervisory experience.
