Join the Technology & Data-Regulatory Team within Digital Citizenship as a Senior Counsel, Data, and Information Management. In this role, you will provide advice and counsel to teams within Walmart's technology and product organizations, specifically you will partner cross-functionally with key business and engineering stakeholders as well as subject matter experts throughout Walmart's legal and compliance organizations.

You'll make an impact by...

  • Advising Walmart functions related to managing the availability, usability, integrity, and security of data within its enterprise.
  • Driving Walmart practices related to ethical and appropriate use of data, sharing of data and considerations around sensitive personal information.
  • Supporting B2B business within the Walmart family on state and federal privacy and security laws
  • Steering Walmart and its businesses as they expand in regions outside the US related to data flows, access and privacy matters
  • Providing legal advice to the company clients that emphasizes the client's legal rights, obligations, and risks and promotes informed decisions.
  • Collaborating with senior executives on significant risks; seeking authority and obtaining informed consent to proceed with legal matters.
  • Proactively collaborate with technical engineers, developers, and product managers to build creative solutions to challenges impacting the privacy and security of services.
  • Partnering with Compliance and Business leaders to definebest practices and policies to ensure compliance with state & federal laws and regulations to mitigate corporate risk.
  • Directing highly sensitive investigations and assessments.
  • Identifying the need for, and effectively overseeing, outside legal support for business transactions and projects.
  • Consulting with outside resources and experts to facilitate the responsible and effective implementation of high priority business initiatives.
  • Maintaining expertise in the rapidly changing policy positions and legal requirements impacting data privacy and security; providing legal support to associates on matters related to privacy and information security.
  • Leveraging technology to streamline processes, communication, and workflows.

  • You have experience providing transactional support and product counseling to leading-edge start-ups and disruptive businesses.
  • You have subject matter expertise in the fields of data privacy and information security.
  • You havesubstantial, diverse legal experience (ex. combination of in-house, government, leading law firm, etc.).
  • You empower your business partners while working collaboratively to achieve cross-functional goals.
  • You work proactively and leverage preventative measures in the spirit of protecting stakeholders, customers, and employees.
  • You have a proven track record of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • You have strong communication skills to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $135,000.00-$305,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

- Stock equity incentives
