The Commercial Contract Sr. Specialist is responsible for providing commercial contract support to the North America Sales team at Cepheid. This role will be an integral part of the North America Commercial Operations team. The individual will work with Regional Sales Directors, Senior Executives, and cross-functional stakeholders to provide contractual expertise in mitigating, coordinating, and negotiating a variety of contracts.

This position is on the North America Commercial Operations in Sunnyvale, California. At Cepheid, we make it easier and faster to access the test results you need, when and where you need them.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts including, but not limited to, commercial sales contracts, master purchasing agreements, service agreements, distributor agreements, amendments, NDAs, BAAs, business letters, and pricing.
  • Support and guide sales through the contracting process and contract negotiations with customers and manage escalations through to resolution.
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend standard methodologies to improve Sales, customer experience and continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain library of forms, templates, playbooks, and other resources and implement processes and procedures to drive efficiency and improve contract workflow.
  • Resolve issues regarding internal customer concerns and create processes to facilitate and implement countermeasures.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Maintaining independent judgment and decision-making skills in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Quickly acquiring knowledge of new business activities or issues.
