Position Summary

The Senior Communications Specialist position in the Department of Emergency Medicine's Innovative Practice Section will provide support to the Program Coordinators with the day-to-day operations and coordination of functions of the Innovative Practice Programs including, but not limited to, operational support, event staffing, supplies/logistics coordination, medical repatriation, and communication within the Innovative Practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Facilitate telemedical interactions between patients/clients and medical providers
  • Document and accurately scribe medical communications
  • Follow up with patients/clients as needed
  • Work toward solutions to client issues in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Prioritize job duties while utilizing excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Be a nationally certified EMT with current CPR for healthcare providers (AHA, ASHE)
  • Be deft at computers and typing
  • Performs intake of initial demographic data
  • Be confident in their medical terminology
  • Work within standard operating procedures and follow defined algorithms

Qualifications

Education

  • An Associate's degree is required for this role.
  • Must have a current NREMT or a higher EMS certification.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred

Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of specialized and/or advanced administrative, technical, and project management experience.
