Position Summary

This position will be situated within the Global Credit Valuations & Analytics group, which is responsible for supporting the broader Liquid and Illiquid Credit teams for Global Credit. The role is focused on public and private investment valuations, enhancing platform analytics, data governance, performance reporting requirements, and assisting with technology initiatives. Responsibilities include assisting with the review of valuations in the Liquid and Illiquid Credit space; data and process governance; updating and reviewing investment models; develop key management reports on both a fund and platform level; and other ad-hoc projects.

This position requires strong finance and reporting experience, knowledge of the alternative investment industry, sound organizational and analytical skills as well as ability to build rapport with various constituents throughout the firm, service providers and Carlyle investors. In addition, the individual should be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, be deadline-oriented and possess strong analytical, forecasting and modelling skills as well as advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and Python.

Responsibilities

25-50% of time - Valuations

  • Assist with reviewing investment valuations across Liquid and Illiquid Credit funds.
  • Track and manage daily/monthly/quarterly valuation deliverables to assure compliance with internal controls
  • Work closely with deal teams to solve for complex valuation situations, escalating as required
  • Support the development and refinement of valuation models to better address credit investments.
  • Assist with identifying and developing standard processes to streamline valuation process and add efficiencies to preparation of valuations
  • Interact with third party administrators and valuation firms

25-50% of time - Reporting & Analytics

  • Build out management reporting capabilities focused on performance, risk, and valuations across the funds and investment vehicles in scope
  • Work with Carlyle's operations group, technology department, third-party administrators, third-party vendors, among others, to source investment data and develop reports and analytics
  • Collaborate with teams across Global Credit to improve fund modelling/forecasting efforts as it relates to current and prospective funds
  • Complete periodic reporting requirements on both funds and individual securities
  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests from various groups including senior leadership and deal teams

25% of time - Data Governance/Technology Initiatives

  • Assist in implementing data and technology strategies to produce consistent reporting across all fund families within the credit vertical
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate automation to eliminate manual processes, when appropriate
  • Support other data management and reporting initiatives within the broader Global Credit team
  • Document policies and guidelines, partnering with other functions, to help improve quality and promote consistency across Global Credit

Qualifications

Education & Certificates

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting required
  • Progress towards the CFA designation a plus

Professional Experience

  • 2-6 years relevant experience required
  • Strong experience modeling structured finance cash flows in Intex and Excel, particularly, but not limited to, CLO and ABS
  • Strong finance and reporting experience with advanced knowledge of alternative investments
  • Experience creating reports for various stakeholders, including senior management
  • Experience with valuation concepts and methodologies across multiple sectors, private credit is a plus
  • Experience analyzing and modelling cash flows in Intex and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Python, Bloomberg, Chronograph, VPM, Geneva, Anaplan, iLevel, IHS Markit, Capital IQ, PowerBI/Automate a plus

Benefits/Compensation

The compensation range for this role is specific to New York City and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000.

Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
