Position Summary:
Asahi Kasei Bioprocess, a global bioprocess product supplier, is seeking a highly energetic and motivated Senior Account Manager. The person in this role will develop and nurture relationships with customers and potential customers, promoting and selling AKB products and services within the Northwest U.S. territory in a manner that is consistent with business plans and company objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in selling AKB products and services - particularly Planova virus filters - in assigned territory, with impactful project support from early to late phase, protecting accounts from competition, and ensuring high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate superior performance in securing firm orders from customers and develop new business at an annual level that consistently meets or exceeds mutually-agreed goals.
  • Execute individual and specific account strategies, account portfolios and territory business strategies by identifying and working with appropriate decision makers in customer and potential new business organizations.
  • Promote customer satisfaction by providing product and application information, answering inquiries, delivering quotations, investigating complaints and taking appropriate action utilizing all available resources.
  • Coach and mentor best practices and sales successes to AKB team members.
  • Plan and conduct demonstrations of AKB products and deliver application presentations to potential customers.
  • Participate or lead projects geared towards advancing the sales teams goals and objectives to meet or exceed KPIs.
  • Present and report competitive product information and observed competitor market activity and perceived strategies.
  • Support forecasting and budgeting for territory sales and volume.
  • Complete customer visit reports, monthly activity reports and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Represent AKB at exhibitions / technical symposia, including booth duties, technical presentations, etc. Recommend suitable exhibitions / symposia in which AKB should participate.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Minimum of BS/BA in Life Science related field
  • Experience: At least 4 years life science laboratory experience utilizing techniques and/or instrumentation related to AKB products.
  • Experience: 4 - 8 years experience successfully delivering life-science/bioprocess product sales revenue and growth and/or 2 - 4 of downstream process development experience successfully managing program development.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid driving license with good driving record
  • Knowledge: In depth knowledge of bioprocess techniques and methods. Virus filtration and downstream processing techniques are a plus.
  • Demonstrated successful track record of selling life-science products & services
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Candidate will work out of a home office in the Northwest US, preferably Bay Area or Seattle Area.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
  • Ability to travel as required by territory geography and company requirements.
  • Overnight travel up to 60% depending on home-office location.
