The shift hours of this position are 2pm-10pm Monday - Friday.

The selected candidate will be offered a pay rate based on prior industrial experience, but not less than $17.92/hour to start.

Employees assigned to second shift, are also eligible for a $1.75/hour shift premium.

The candidate hired in this position will be eligible for a $1,000 retention bonus, payable after the completion of 90 days of service with the Company.

The Secondary Machine Operator performs preparation and finishing operations for assigned work orders, including but not limited to painting, boxing broaching, balancing and key-seating.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate manual machines and other equipment assigned within cell
  • Train to operate all secondary machines; may be required to work outside of assigned cell, at the discretion of supervisor
  • Fully responsible for preventive maintenance and proper usage of assigned machinery, tools, and component parts in assigned cells
  • Follow Standard Work Instructions and make mechanical adjustments
  • Participate in Kaizen events and seek to continuously improve work processes
  • Input data to computer to ensure accuracy of inventory
  • Ability to perform next job below and above in value stream
  • Adhere to all safety and health standards

Job Requirements

Critical Competencies
  • Basic measuring, math, reading and writing skills
  • Basic blueprint reading, inspection gauge and tooling skills
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Demonstrated basic computer knowledge and aptitude
  • Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to conduct tests and inspection of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Accuracy and attention to detail required
Education and Experience Requirements
  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • 6 to 9 months on the job training or related vocational training program preferred
Physical Demand and Work Environment:

Work environment includes regular exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels, dust particles, light radiation, paint or oil products, and weather changes. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift.

Physical requirements include lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity, control precision, near vision, and hearing sensitivity.
