Summary of the Group and Role

The Department of Antibody Discovery and Protein Engineering in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a talented and highly motivated Scientist to enhance our T cell receptor discovery platform. The successful candidate will help build the next-generation discovery engine to rapidly isolate novel T cell receptors for use as oncology therapeutics. We are seeking a candidate with expertise in molecular biology and protein engineering that is excited by research at the interface between technology and biology. The candidate will operate in collaboration with a diverse group of scientists to actively drive technological innovations. The selected individual will be a well-organized and a highly productive bench scientist that can design and execute experiments efficiently, as well as analyze, interpret and present data to multidisciplinary project teams.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology or other related fields with 5-7 years of relevant experience in industry (preferred) or academia, or Master's degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience in industry (preferred) or academia.

Required Skills:

• Extensive experience with Molecular Biology techniques, including recombinant cloning and library generation.
• Experience with protein engineering display-based technologies, such as phage display, and with using automation for high-throughput screening.
• Demonstrated experience optimizing/troubleshooting new protocols with a problem-solving mindset.

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with next-generation sequencing, FACS and gene delivery technologies would also be highly advantageous

• Strong communication skills
• Self-motivated, embracing new technologies and have demonstrated an ability to work within teams.
