Job Description

We're seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Sample Control Technicians. In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory by managing the receipt, tracking, and shipment of samples. If you're detail-oriented, have excellent organizational skills, and a passion for contributing to scientific processes, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and verify incoming samples, ensuring adherence to Chain of Custody (COC) and matching against corresponding documentation.
  • Log samples into our Lab Management System, assigning lot numbers for tracking purposes, and distribute paperwork accordingly.
  • Prepare sample bottle kits for client delivery and ensure compliance with established procedures, including EPA and DOT requirements.
  • Assist in determining the priority level and appropriate testing procedures for samples, labeling, and storing them as per documented procedures.
  • Perform pick-up and delivery of samples, along with additional customer service duties, driving, or courier tasks as needed to support laboratory and client requirements.
  • Ensure proper disposal of samples and waste in accordance with applicable procedures.
Essential Duties:
  • Unload incoming samples in compliance with DOT regulations, verifying against COC, and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Label samples for identification, assign lot numbers, and deliver them to the appropriate labs for analysis.
  • Prepare bottle kits and arrange shipment to clients, following established procedures.
  • Dispose of spent samples and hazardous materials as per protocols.
  • Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures daily to ensure compliance with SOP guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and conduct all operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
  • Manage inventory and assist with supply maintenance to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Perform splits and composites as required.
  • Assist in the maintenance of walk-in coolers for efficient sample storage.
  • Manage the shipment of empty coolers back to clients and maintain detailed inventory records.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Proficiency in office practices, computers, and database software.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and general mathematics.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to organize work effectively and pay attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with computerized shipping systems and personal protective equipment.

Additional Information

Candidates within commutable distance of our Mount Laurel, NJ laboratory are eligible to apply. This role will be a full time role, first shift (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Monday - Friday.

Salary Range: $18-19 with benefits, PTO and company matching 401K plan
