What's the role?

A Solution Architect is both, a big picture thinker and in-depth problem solver, leveraging HERE products and services, technology, and data assets to architect solutions solving variety of problems in the Transportation & Logistics market. The Solution Architect understands ecosystem architectures & trends and provides technical consulting to customers as a trusted advisor. At the customer architect level, the Solution Architect scope would blend Industry expertise & technology solutioning to support a key group of strategic customers. This role will support the Transportation & Logistics segment.

As a Solution Architect you will be responsible to lead technical solutioning efforts involving HERE content, products, and services. You will collaborate with Clients, Sales, Engineering, and Product Management to find and architect solutions that solve client use cases and problem statements. You will need to document and diagram the potential solution and present said solution and value to the Client. You will also support Clients during implementation of the solution by providing technical consulting as their trusted advisor.

  • Identify customer jobs to be done and solved as part of value-selling engagements with our sales and account teams (be the business consultant that understands customer business processes and maps them to technology to optimize business outcomes)
  • Clearly connect customer insights and observed pain points to relevant HERE products and technology assets
  • Identify required project and technical steps to drive the opportunity
  • Engage with the customer to understand needs and expectations internally to ensure internal initiatives reflect customer business and technical requirements
  • Identify risks and mitigations in solution proposals
  • Represent voice of the customer back to HERE product and engineering teams, including customer and market requirements, competitive insights and inputs for business cases to justify investment decisions
  • Actively support the account teams with solution advice, presentations, and customer communications ensuring the success of the sales process
  • Keep up to date with new industry and technology trends in order to maintain skill set and overall effectiveness
  • Build customer loyalty by becoming a trusted technical advisor for complex solutions


Who are you?

You are an independent and quick learner comfortable working with minimal guardrails. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get dirty and ask the tough questions. You take time to truly understand customer and market imperatives (pain points) with a keen eye to connect problem identification to technology capabilities and solutions. In the absence of readily available information you initiate collaboration with other groups to find your answers. You are comfortable working with customers and presenting your solution and its value to the customer. Working in a large organization while keeping an agile mindset is not an issue for you.

Industry Experience:
  • Experience working with digital maps, routing services, location-based services, GIS or other geography based systems
  • Experience within Transportation and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and/or Fleet Telematics platforms
  • Technical product development and/or architecture experience

Work Experience:
  • 3+ years experience in software pre-sales activities, technical solution design, implementation, and consulting
  • Successful experience in software solutioning and consulting either in a platform/cloud environment or utilizing web services
  • Creating, deconstructing, and troubleshooting API calls and API responses
  • Experience cooperating across multiple departments including engineering, production, subcontractors, marketing, sales, and distribution to find the right solution and execute or build the solution
  • Strong partner orientation - readily identifies and qualifies partner needs and opportunities
  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale solutions to market
  • Ability to operate independently and in highly distributed teams
  • Ability to work with across functional teams, manage issues cross-functionally and remotely

Education:
  • BS / MS in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Transportation/Logistics
