The WEG Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) division is based in Barre, VT with offices, laboratory and testing capabilities within our Vermont facility. The Barre VT BESS team includes commercial, engineering, and operational personnel. The BESS division is part of WEG Electric Corp, which is headquartered in Duluth, GA and includes nine facilities around the country. WEG products and Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) services include electric generators, wind turbines, solar, hydropower, battery energy storage, controls, transformers, and drives. About the Role:

Most qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related field and 8+ years of applicable industrial sales experience.

We are looking for someone with leadership skills who will provide overall oversight of the sales department for the Battery Energy Storage business based in WEG's Barre, VT facility. This person will plan and organize the processes through which the commercial team pursues sales throughout the U.S. Includes process for recruiting and managing third party Sales Agents.

Knowledge/ Training:

  • Demonstrated ability to define, refine and implement internal sales processes, procedures and policies.
  • Experience (advanced) with technical OEM's and proposing appropriate product solutions.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience (intermediate) and proven success in evaluating and navigating through complex commercial business situations.
  • Capable of developing and implementing both short and long term growth plans.
  • Able to identify business opportunities and drive short and long term projects to completion.
  • Able to build strong relationships with all levels of management.
  • Pertinent data analysis and interpretation.
  • Influential negotiation skills.
  • Experience (Basic) with Lean Management and Continuous Improvement (preferred).
  • Experience (Basic) with CRM (i.e. Salesforce.com) systems preferred (preferred).
  • Knowledge or experience in the energy storage market or distributed energy market.
  • Experience in sales related to electric utilities, power generation, or renewable energy.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate opportunities and determine viability.
  • Serves as an escalation point for customer, process or system issues.
  • Manages and controls departmental budget and expenses.
  • Supervises commercial team (3-6 people).
  • Employ leadership and project management skills to facilitate meetings and discussions.
  • Collaborate with other key WEG associates involved in expansion of the business.
  • Key customer contact and oversees contract negotiation, pricing and margin analysis/maintenance, lead generation/qualification, Vendor Managed Inventory program management.
  • Work closely with all disciplines within the organization to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction.
  • Oversees lead identification and development process.
  • Understand, evaluate and navigate through a variety of complex commercial and engineering business situations.

Able to travel 20-30%
