Description:
Develops, plans, implements and evaluates staff development for clinical staff, utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.

Provides direct, step-by-step instruction to staff regarding special clinical processes and procedures, while maintaining standards of professional nursing care.

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, and education. Utilizes an age specific approach in care and education of patients.

Promotes quality care for all patients. Develops, implements and evaluates processes, policies and procedures in accordance with standards of practice.

Assists in clinical competencies.

Develops orientation and preceptor manuals. Aware of computer programs that are used in the Surgical Services dept., to allow for audits and education regarding those programs.

May audit charts for billing purposes and risk evaluations. Coordinates educational in-services and certification courses required for OR nursing.

Responsible for staffing for the Outpatient Surgery Center and adhering to the productivity targets pertaining to the departments.

Other duties as assigned. Work hours 7am - 3:30pm - Monday - Friday, NO CALL, NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS!!!
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensed in the state of Georgia, to practice as a registered nurse. BSN, preferred, ACLS and BLS required.

Education: Minimum requirement degree in nursing. Four year degree preferable.

Experience: Minimum three years' experience in nursing required. Supervisory and/or clinical Operating Room experience preferred.

Qualifications: Computer proficiency required. Excellent written and oral skills.

Must possess ability to coach, educate & create positive teamwork.

Degree of Supervision Required: Indirect and periodic supervision. Must be capable of autonomy.
