Job Summary

The New Graduate RN supports our vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality while providing compassionate nursing care to patients in accordance with YRMC established policies, operating practices, guidelines and national standards of care. YRMC will have positions for new grads in Critical Care and Med/Surg/Tele. We will only have one (1) posting that represents all units, please apply via this posting to be considered for all available units.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program within 12 months of the application period
  • RN license (AZ or compact state) required prior to start of the program
  • Demonstrates competency in basic EKG skills by passing EKG test or successfully completing basic EKG class/modules within six months of hire
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider certification
  • American Heart Association ACLS certification obtained prior to the successful completion of the New Graduate RN Program
  • American Heart Association PALS certification ( for required units ) obtained prior to the successful completion of the New Graduate RN Program
  • Completion of the online AACN Critical Care curriculum ( for required units ) within one year of hire
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, basic computer literacy, and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
  • Willingness to train on various shifts and, once the New Graduate RN Program has successfully been completed, must be willing to accept any open RN position for which the candidate is qualified, regardless of shift (days, evenings or nights) or campus (Prescott or Prescott Valley)
  • Less than twelve months of RN experience in any clinical setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA from a nursing school
  • General or skilled nursing experience, not to exceed 12 months
  • BSN

  • A copy of the unofficial nursing school transcript that includes nursing GPA
  • A 500-word essay explaining why you want to be a nurse and why you would be an excellent candidate for our program

The YRMC New Grad Program is a significant commitment of time and resources to train selected candidates. Accordingly, YRMC asks for a mutual commitment from the candidates to work for YRMC at least 24 months after starting the program.
