Job Title: -- Risk Manager Financial Compliance

Job Summary: -- This position is responsible for the development, enhancement and implementation of successful property and casualty risk and insurance programs for EMCOR and its 80+ operating companies worldwide. This includes the attainment of optimal risk management and cost outcomes, through claims management and oversight strategies. Additionally, this position is accountable for the selection and management of internal and external resources and assets in the support EMCOR management, operations, shareholders, and EMCOR's Operating Companies. This position will be based out of the Norwalk, CT office 3 days per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --

  • Cash flow and accounting process management, including:
  • managing department payables and receivables in an effective and timely manner
  • developing budgets and assisting department management in projecting annual risk costs
  • forecasting monthly risk cash flow and
  • quarterly Risk Reserve Analysis process
  • Perform analysis and compile annual, monthly, and ad hoc financial and/or risk reports for Manager and others as required and assist in various projects such as internal/external audits, quarterly insurance broker and business partner performance evaluations, etc.
  • Review stand-alone insurance program deductible/retrospective billings for subsidiary stand-alone programs, where applicable
  • Assist with acquisition due diligence to identify and analyze significant risk management issues and assist with subsequent integration of acquired companies
  • Direct selected insurance program placements and renewals, including but not limited to risk analysis, development and production of submissions, review of proposals, negotiation of terms, and review of related claim information
  • Supervise receipt, checking, and maintenance of insurance program documentation, including policies, schedules of insurance and related databases/documentation
  • Development and Management of Policy File Documentation Database
  • Development, direction, and management of Subsidiary Risk Questionnaires & Exposure Summaries
  • Management of Quarterly Risk Reserve Analysis, Reporting, and Process
  • Assist in development, review, processing of annual insurance allocations to field
  • Create relevant and update current Risk Management procedures for internal Risk Management Policies Manual
  • Conduct insurance market research and monitor insurance insurers' ratings as required for financial strength and solvency and advise Manager of rating declines. Assist with resolving resultant issue.
  • Foster excellent relationships between internal and external customers, insurance carriers, and brokers to support the effective administration of risk management goals and objectives
  • Manage and perform various training & goal setting for subsidiaries, department, internal EMCOR, and business partners
  • Address and resolve requests and issues effectively, efficiently, and creatively
  • Manage annual ERM-14 filing, experience mod analysis
  • Analyze monopolistic state WC accounts to assure cost effectiveness
  • Identify and analyze factors with the potential for causing financial and operational loss, and recommend risk management solutions, including financing and alternative risk coverage methods
  • Interface effectively with EMCOR, its business partners (insurers, brokers, TPAs, administrators, etc.), and others to develop and implement risk management processes and solutions and achieve results
  • Foster excellent relationships between internal and external customers, insurance carriers, and brokers to support the effective administration of risk management goals and objectives
  • Direct quarterly insurance broker and business partner evaluations
  • Identify and implement, with department management agreement, improvements to increase individual job and department effectiveness
  • Create relevant and update current Risk Management procedures for internal Risk Management Policies Manual
  • Develop and assist with development of other training materials
  • Perform all other assignments and projects as requested by Company
Qualifications: --
  • B.A. / B.S. preferred (degree in Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field a plus)
  • Minimum 10-year direct experience in Corporate Risk Management, Actuary Sciences, Insurance Company, or Insurance Broker required
  • Strong financial and accounting technical skills required
  • Strong Risk Management technical skills
  • Excellent communication, people, service oriented and organizational skills
  • ARM, CRIS or CPCU certifications a plus and can be completed on the job
  • Additional industry related experience a plus
  • Strong team focus
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and resourceful problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to handle multiple priorities effectively/efficiently
  • Robust computer skills, including knowledge of Lotus Notes, Access, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, Work, Power Point, and ability to learn new software with ease required
