The Varghese lab in theDepartmentof Orthop aedic Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine and Department ofBio medical Engineering at Duke University is seeking for a Research Associa te,Sr. to lead NIH supported projects in the Varghese laboratory at Duke University. The Varghese lab uses an interdisciplinary approach of bioma terialsand organoid technology to gain novel insights into musculoskelet al disordersand inflammatory diseases.
Current proje ct focus on biomaterialsto promote cell culture and deliver bioactive mo lecules to promote tissuerepair and mitigate pain. The project responsib ilities include synthesis andcharacterization of biomaterials and animal studies.
A Ph.D. in Materials Science orrelated fields. Familiarity with synthesis and ch aracterization.
Min Degree Requirements: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. Sc.D., M.D.,D.V. M.).
Other Credential/Experiential Requirements: T he appointeemust have a 5 years of postdoctoral training
