As a Research Associate 1 you will:

Job Description:

Seeking a high-performing Associate to join our Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) Labs and Innovation team in Bothell, WA. In this role, the primary responsibility will be laboratory maintenance and experimental execution related to internal manufacturing and technical innovation. The ideal candidate will have some exposure to common mammalian upstream unit operations. This is an exciting opportunity where this role will support projects, troubleshoot technical challenges, and apply new, innovative technologies to manufacturing. The incumbent will work in a highly collaborative environment requiring attention to detail, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Laboratory management (maintaining and cleaning equipment, analytical instrument maintenance, ordering and stocking supplies);
- Supporting manufacturing support studies (technical transfer and troubleshooting) or technology development for mammalian cell culture and buffer/media preparation;
- Build, maintain, and clean benchtop bioreactors; support pilot-scale (50-200L) single-use bioreactor through equipment setup, culture maintenance, and cleanup;
- Maintain meticulous laboratory records, equipment logbooks, electronic files, and laboratory notebooks to support experimental studies;
- Data analysis with guidance, summarize and present experimental findings in team meetings;
- Manufacturing sample coordination and data verification.

Qualifications:
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in laboratory or manufacturing setting;
- Exceptional aseptic technique desired;
- Experience in cell culture operations desired;
- Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with attention to detail;
- The ability to multitask and think critically and creatively;
- A willingness to learn and contribute to team goals;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others in a dynamic environment;
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills;
- Applicant must be willing and able to work on a flexible schedule (some weekends);
- Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for up to 8 hours;
- Experience in restaurant, retail, or other service industry is a plus.

Education:
B.S. degree in biology, engineering, biochemistry, or related discipline

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: $30 - $33/hr

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
