Job Summary

The job provides support for scientific research projects focused on neurocognitive aspects of substances of abuse and of psychiatric disorders. Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Assists in coordination of study, analysis of data, and drafting presentations on research findings.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of analyses of neuroimaging (functional and structural MRI, high-density EEG) data as part of psychiatric and related fields research program.
  • Assists with study design, implementation, and data acquisition, including cognitive task programming, scoring, coordination of research participant study visits.
  • Provides data management, optimizes processing pipelines, learns new analysis techniques or software packages as they become available.
  • Assists with administrative tasks related to studies.
  • Provides training and support in these techniques for other staff and students.
  • This job provides technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment performing basic laboratory techniques, research and analysis under direction.
  • Collects and enters data. Assists in analysis of data and with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
  • Complies with institution, state and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree.

Experience:
  • Two years of relevant research experience.
  • Experience gained in school counts towards this qualification.

  • Knowledge of research technique and methods in relevant scientific field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Work both independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions
  • Work independently for periods of eight (8) hours or more.
