As Hagerty grows, we continue to look for talented professionals from a variety of backgrounds to provide holistic solutions to our clients. We are currently seeking a Research and Policy Analyst. This is a contract position that will be primarily remote with occasional travel to Washington, DC. The ideal candidate should have a passion for developing public policy to help people on their worst day, be a self-starter, and have the desire to solve complex preparedness problems for our clients. The Research and Policy Analyst will execute a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Conducting research and analysis from open source and grey literature regarding public policy, best practices, and evolving federal legal frameworks.
  • Developing high quality short and long form written products for Hagerty clients in accordance with the firm's professional standards. This will include short briefs for leadership and decision makers as well as detailed white papers and other research products.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across geographies and disciplines to brainstorm, innovate, and problem-solve.
Candidates for Research and Policy Analyst must possess the following qualifications:
  • The desire to help communities deliver services in a whole community approach and develop equitable and sustainable systems.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (a writing prompt is required during the interview process).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint).
  • Ability to provide summary products for leadership and policy makers
  • Ability to scan news articles and other open sources, tracking what other jurisdictions are doing, evolving federal guidelines, and legal changes.
  • Able to remain calm and poised under pressure, work successfully on multiple priorities simultaneously, and remain focused when working under tight deadlines.
  • The ability to be flexible and demonstrate integrity, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in all endeavors.
  • Able to understand leadership intent and think and act independently to meet requirements, providing high quality analysis.
  • Capacity to communicate to varied audiences.
Candidates for Research and Policy Analyst may also have the following qualifications:
  • Interest in helping public and private-sector agencies respond to emerging challenges and novel problems.
  • Experience researching complex issues and presenting outcomes and insights to a senior leaders or large audiences.
  • A master's degree or higher in social sciences.
  • Significant social science research experience.
  • Experience in program development.
  • Social service experience.
