RELEASE TRAIN ENGINEER (Remote)

One of top telecom companies has an immediate opening at this time for an experienced Release Train Engineer to join their team. This Release Train Engineer is responsible for working with several scrum teams across the company's Emerging Technology division to streamline SAFe Agile Methodology efforts to support this highly visible initiative. RELEASE TRAIN ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ Years Release Train Engineering Experience (recent job title: Release Train Engineer):
  • Managing and optimizing the flow of value through Agile Release Trains (ART) and Solutions trains using various tools
  • Facilitate PI Planning (Program Increment) readiness by fostering continuous exploration processes to drive the vision, roadmap, and backlogs, through pre and post PI Planning events
  • Coach Leaders, Teams, and Scrum Masters in SAFe Agile practices and mindsets
  • Work with multiple Agile Scrum teams and once and publish/summarize progress for visibility and transparency
  • Previous Scrum Master or Agile Coaching Background
  • SAFe Agile Methodology Expert:
  • Scaled Agile Framework Expertise (SAFe)
  • Can clearly define and map out the framework/teach others in the organization
  • Hold Organizational standards to true SAFe Agile standards
  • Certifications Preferred but not required
  • Resource management experience
  • Capacity management
  • Identifying scrum teams that are under/over staffed - and adjust scope or resource allocation as needed
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • SDLC and Application Focused Background

RELEASE TRAIN ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART and Solution Train using various tools
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events
  • Facilitate the PI planning event Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives (the RTE) and publish them for visibility and transparency Summarize program PI objectives into Solution PI Objectives (the STE) and publish them for visibility and transparency
  • Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities Facilitate periodic synchronization events, including the ART sync at the Essential Level and the Solution Train sync for Solution Trains
  • Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Agile practices and mindsets
  • Help manage risks and dependencies Escalate and track impediments Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline\
  • Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle
