What You Will Be Doing In this role, you will work on-site at our office in Latham, NY, and you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial planning, estate planning, insurance planning and investment services for our diverse client base. As a Relationship Manager, you will function as a Player Coach, acting as a Financial Planner while managing a team of Financial Planners to higher levels of achievement. You will be asked to provide business owners, executives, and successful families with comprehensive wealth and life planning, and you will build strong relationships and inform clients about their options, to help lead them to realize and fulfill ambitions and secure family legacies.
What You Need for this Position At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and leading a team with:
- A willingness to commute to and work in the Latham, NY area
- A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Preferred Credentials - Certified Financial Planner, potentially other licenses may be required for the role as determined by management / registration
- Experience in the structuring and management of family office entities is a PLUS
- Extensive experience working with clients in structuring multi-generational wealth and estate planning strategies
- Technical expertise in US tax legislation and tax implications of investment portfolios, estate planning entities, philanthropic entities, and other business activities, including impact of the Alternative Minimum Tax
- Experience in interfacing with Trustees, Attorneys, Accountants, and other advisors and professional bodies in respect to private client's wealth planning
- Ability to build consensus and facilitate decision-making among families
- Strong ability to analyze financial data and provide adequate financial advice
- Exceptional communication, analytical and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Proficiency in E-Money Software (PREFERRED)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to handle and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to work both independently and in conjunction with a team.
- Understanding of when and how to work in an efficient manner.
