Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty functions under the direction of the Office Manager and/or Physician and is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. The nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing safe patient care with an understanding and awareness of age appropriate and culturally aware needs. The nurse addresses the patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and education needs.

The nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care in complex situations, coordination of patient care activities, staff development and professional self-development. The nurse is able to independently perform job functions
Qualifications

Required Minimum Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing: Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred;
  • National certification in area of specialty preferred
Required Minimum Licensure/Certification:
  • Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia;
  • Must have a current BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment in position.
Required Minimum Experience:
  • One (1) year of direct patient care in an acute care setting preferred.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language;
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills;
  • Inter- and intra-departmental coordination of patient care activities;
  • Delegation skills required; Ability to multi-task essential;
  • Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations essential;
  • Strong detail orientation required;
  • Computer skills required;
  • Personal time management skills are required;
  • Compliance with the American Nurses' Association Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses is required;
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and practices within parameters outlined in Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act.
  • Assessment skills required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • The individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude (see WellStar's \"Standards of Gold\").
