$3,000 hiring bonus to join the Judicial Branch! The Douglas County Court is taking applications for a full time Records Clerk/Cashier position in our Criminal Traffic Division. This is an entry level clerical position the position also has significant cash handling as part of the duties.

HIRING RATE: EFFECTIVE 07/01/22, $2,706.07 per month
NOTE: If starting prior to 07/01/22, Hiring Rate will be $2,640.07 with a pay raise effective 07/01/22.

Examples of Work
One of the major and significant job duties of the Records Clerk/Cashier is data entry from various legal documents. Additionally, work involves a variety of general office duties which include responding to routine inquiries, processing and/or accounting for cash payments, typing and computer functions under the supervision of the Division Manager of the Criminal Traffic Division. The Criminal Traffic Division is a separate and distinct Division within Douglas County Court and has the highest volume of records. While this is a record Clerk/Cashier position this position has significant cash handling as part of the duties. Assist persons attending court directing them to appropriate windows for completing their respective actions. Some court attendance may be required. Data entry and attention to detail is paramount.
Qualifications / Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation or equivalent PLUS two years of experience in an office setting. Education above the high school level may be substituted for work experience on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least one year of court/law office experience or experience in processing and/or accounting for cash payments. Other Qualifications: Successful completion of "on the job training" in JUSTICE (the statewide computer system) will be required within six months.

OTHER: Successful completion of "on the job training" in JUSTICE (the statewide computer system) will be required within six months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requirements include typing skills, computer and data entry skills; the ability to follow instructions, strong customer service skills and good phone manners. Some knowledge of standard bookkeeping/financial procedures and practices. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other court employees and the general public.
