Job Description:

Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, Inc. Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a R&D Intern to join our team at Asahi Kasei Bioprocess! The person in this role will work under the supervision of research staff on a scientific study to investigate performance of one or more bioprocess unit operations to better understand underlying mechanisms and/or provide recommendations for process optimization. At the close of the study, the intern will summarize their work in an internal presentation and technical report.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a scientific study to evaluate one or more bioprocess unit operations
  • Author a presentation and internal technical report based on study results
  • Participate in regular group meetings

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Working toward BS/BA in Engineering or Life Science-related field of study.
  • Previous work experience preferred
  • At least sophomore standing in a Chemistry and/or Biochemistry-related undergraduate program.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers and their operating systems.
  • Familiarity with biological laboratory tools (e.g. pipetters, balances, spectrophotometer, etc.) is preferred.
  • Must be energetic, detail oriented, and motivated to learn.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
  • Must be able to perform basic biological laboratory tasks.
