Quality Scientist I

The individual will be a member of the animal testing division in the Quality Control department. The duties of this position include animal care, facility maintenance, and conducting vaccine safety and potency testing in animals per written guidelines.

• Conduct vaccine safety and potency testing in animals in accordance with written methods
• Provide animal care in accordance with written methods
• Accurately record observations and test results
• Recognize and report aberrations to the appropriate persons
• Maintain adequate inventories of supplies and equipment
• Assist with facility care, cleaning, and maintenance

Education and Experience:

2 to 4 Year Degree (science background preferred) and/or 0-3 years of relevant experience

• Animal care and handling experience
• General knowledge the following software programs: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
• Experience with maintenance, ordering, testing, and other company-based programs.
• General knowledge of USDA, EU, and Animal Welfare Act guidelines.
• Willingness to positively embrace change and flexibility in adjusting to changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work well independently and as a part of a team, and to work effectively with people at all levels within the organization.
• Lifting of up to 50lbs
• Must be able to work weekends and some holidays.
• Must be able to wear a respirator
• Capabilities of performing physical labor.
