What you will be doing:
The Purchasing Specialist will work primarily creating po's and or be responsible for system set-ups of vendors and the company HIERARCHY for domestic / international offices. The Purchasing Specialist will analyze overall spend across our U.S. and Canada locations, evaluate common purchases, and deliver cost savings recommendations.


  • Auto create and approve purchase orders from pre-approved purchase requisitions in the current ERP system

  • Reviews order specifications to support for conformance to company policies

  • Works closely with Accounts Payable, Legal and purchasing manager to target higher spend. Develops / implements cost saving strategies such as consolidation of purchasing requests, supplier optimization, vendor development, identified uncontrolled spend, best price comparison methods, and negotiated discounts.

  • Partner during budget season to identify key projects and plans accordingly to ensure the projects are carried out timely and efficiently.

  • Sets yearly goals on cost reductions and reports monthly progress of goals and target savings.

  • Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a competitive price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct

  • Improves negotiation leverage by pre-contract involvement, advance planning, and the use of technology enhancements such as reverse auctioning and group purchasing organizations (GPO).

  • Performs complex cost estimates or analysis and focuses on recommendation for cost savings opportunities

  • Partners with team members and initiates the preparation of award recommendations

  • Coordinate and facilitate procurement related meetings such as kick-off and pre-proposal meetings, post award meetings, team briefings, and evaluation scorings

  • Manage service now tickets for new hires, terms, promotions, adjusted tile changes

  • Conduct annual maintenance in current ERP system

  • Works with audit department on annual audits


Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills

  • Excellent multitasking skills, time management and efficiency


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1+ years of experience in large-scale purchasing environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Software skills preferred: Microsoft Office, Oracle, or knowledge of ERP systems
