Overview

The Project Manager II/Scrum Master would be a new role within AmTrust that assists with driving forward our Agile transformation. You will contribute to the adoption of Agile principles and values within the PMO, the development management, and development teams. You will assist the agile coaching and PMO staff in helping people rethink and change the way they go about project management and development.

By providing active support of PMO leadership and the development management team, you will be involved in transitions that involve process, behavior, templates, system usage, policy, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Educate employees at multiple levels on Agile principles, guiding them with best practices for implementing the process in their own work
  • Use techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation
  • Help identify and remove impediments throughout levels of the IT organization
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, sprint reviews, and backlog refinement sessions
  • Provide hands on support to employees, collaborating with people across widely varying roles, leading them through inspection and adaptation toward further understanding and adoption of Agile principles
  • Deliver projects within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and cost for complete solutions
  • Risk and issue management, communications, and stakeholder management
  • Responsible for timelines and deliverables that match project objectives
  • Collaborate with project teams, offshore staff, and leadership to ensure timely delivery and quality of all project deliverables
  • Support and contribute to the operation of the PMO and Agile centers of excellence to ensure transparency, understanding, and consistency of the adopted processes
  • Train and mentor PMO staff on the AmTrust Agile project management framework, including assistance with the use of Agile techniques and tools
  • Coordinate with PMO CoE Director on regular development and monitoring of PMO reports and metrics
  • Additional responsibilities to be assigned as needed by management

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of software development processes and procedures
  • Understands the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and background with agile concepts
  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about agile processes, practices, and their benefits
  • Qualification in project management or equivalent
  • Familiarity of project management techniques and tools
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint
  • Possess great interpersonal skills and a capacity to inspire and motivate
  • Ability to travel as needed (including local office)


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for a development team that was actively applying Agile principles and theory
  • Knowledge of various Agile or Lean frameworks preferred
  • Agile Certifications (Certified/Professional SCRUM Master)
  • Experience with training or coaching preferred
  • Experience using work management tools such as Azure DevOps preferred
  • 5 - 7 years of applied relevant experience supporting the management of medium or large, cross technology IT or business projects
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) certification preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project
