General Description

The Project Manager is responsible for managing capital projects and other expenditures with the goal of developing and improving the manufacturing process in order to reduce operational cost, eliminate production bottlenecks, and increase productivity.

Education, Certifications, Licenses & Registrations

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
  • Two to four years of experience required in a manufacturing or industrial operations.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  • Solid leadership and problem-solving skills and general understanding of OSHA and EPA requirements.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience with project management and engineering principles.
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
  • Works independently; receives minimal guidance and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Has wide latitude for independent judgement
Essential Duties
  • Facilitate the collection of capital project requirements, objectives and expectations, and clearly communicates this information.
  • Develop capital project proposals utilizing prescribed protocols by working closely with the vendors and facilities.
  • Ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.
  • Assist with on-site completion of projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Manage project documentation of all projects and keeps accurate records.
  • Confer with equipment vendors and solicit input from the production team to fulfill equipment purchases and construction projects.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects effectively while determining importance and priority.
  • Able to understand and analyze the layout of equipment, workflow and work force utilization in order to make cost-effective improvements.
  • Contribute to team efforts by assisting with other projects when needed.
Work Environment

Approximately ½ of time is spent in a temperature-controlled office with a moderate noise level; other ½ is spent in an industrial manufacturing environment with loud noise level. The manufacturing facility is enclosed and is ventilated and heated, but is not air-conditioned.

Physical Demands

Office position, primarily sedentary. At least 2/3 of time is spent talking/hearing, reading, and using hands/fingers. Generally spends equal amounts of time (1/3 each) seated, standing, and walking. Generally requires clear vision at 20 inches or less.

Full time salaried exempt

Travel

Up to 50% travel dependent upon project activities
