At Globe Life, the purpose of the EPMO Analyst role family is to support the full initiative lifecycle from business case development to project life cycle management - namely demand, resource, reporting, and delivery management. The broad scope of the role provides various opportunities for personal growth and development laterally across demand-resource-reporting-delivery management. In addition, several choices of career paths including leadership roles within the EPMO such as portfolio manager, project manager, and resource manager exist.

  • Specific involvement in task completion across the very wide spectrum of initiative lifecycle (business case development to project delivery).
  • Manage the key tasks by tracking status of deliverables across the lifecycle.
  • Responsible for acquiring and validating estimates.
  • Maintain processes, procedures and workflows of the EPMO.
  • Support and develop data analytics and reporting.
  • Meeting coordination between IT, business, and EPMO.
  • Support EPMO leadership roles as needed.
  • Learn, understand, and articulate business processes and culture as well as the capabilities of IT.
  • Be aware of, and in tune with specific IT service delivery and projects within the portfolio.
  • Support the implementation of the EPMO and its initiatives.
  • Provide support across ALL project and program management functions as defined by PMI and Globe Life's standards.
  • Budget: gather data from tools and individuals to create and maintain a financial model for the program, providing both forecasts, actuals and performing analysis.
  • Resources: track, forecast and report on resources and allocations, looking for ways to improve efficiencies.
  • Schedule: work with the PMs to gather and collate a program schedule, analyzing and tracking cross stream dependencies and integrations.
  • Risks & Issues: contributes to program management by coordinating and aligning project plans across work streams and assisting with identification and resolution of program issues and risks.
  • Communications: creates weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc communications for relevant audiences.
  • Change Mgmt: track program CRs and makes appropriate updates to the schedule, budget and resources
  • Status: analyzes and aggregates status reports and creates weekly dashboards.
  • Assets: develop process documentation to support new or revised processes, maintains the program plan and keeps appropriate assets as needed for audit or archive purposes
  • Planning: drives scheduling of Plan Refresh activities, coordinates alignment of project plans across work streams and maintains program plan to ensure adequate dependency management
  • Tools: work with the broader EPMO to ensure tool integration, flow and accuracy
  • Processes: work with the broader EPMO on creating and ensuring consistent delivery methods, implementing process improvements when possible
  • For all areas noted above, performs deep-dive analysis on program and project challenges as called upon by performing quantitative analysis, developing process flows, writing pros and cons, and facilitating meetings with business/IT leaders
  • Provide logistical support for key program communication events, including planning, scheduling, materials development, and remote participant coordination
