Position Summary:


Our Navy Systems business has been supplying air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and services to the US Navy since 1917. The Program Manager, Aftermarket Programs will be responsible for the execution and performance of aftermarket support programs through effective customer engagement, leadership, strategy development, program execution, and overall P&L management. This role partners with the cross functional organization to optimize program / contract performance to ensure customer satisfaction in support of the business's goals and strategic plan. This position requires a skilled, energized individual who enjoys the technical challenge of working with large, complex chiller and control systems found on Naval vessels. The incumbent can function with minimal supervision. As a key contributor in the business, you will be actively engaged with the Johnson Controls Navy Systems (JCNS) team reporting into the Senior Program Manager, Aftermarket Support.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  1. Provides Global technical support related to HVAC&R products on naval vessels.
  2. Full P&L responsibility with experience leading multiple firm-fixed price contract programs of up to $30M total
  3. Negotiate proposals with the government Contracting Officer to reach an agreement on price, schedule, and scope.
  4. Manages the resolution of field warranty issues related to Navy equipment. Determines and verifies warranty charges. Provides work quotations to customer as determined.
  5. Receives Request for Quotes (RFQ) from customers, to include Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), for compressor repairs, coordinates response to RFQ as it relates to price and schedule
  6. Coordinates the assignment of field resources to meet customer demands for service, start-up and warranty on naval ships globally.
  7. Work cross-functionally to forge collaborative relationships to drive best practices and operational improvements (Execution Discipline, Influencing with Impact, Facilitating Change) in program planning and execution.
  8. Develop comprehensive and creative solutions to resolve program challenges as they arise. Facilitate root cause and corrective action to resolve issues in a timely manner and incorporate lessons learned in future planning and execution.
  9. Provides input to product design teams on serviceability issues with Navy equipment.
  10. Coordinates the assignment of field service support as required on warranty claims and service requests.
  11. Prepare and brief project status for monthly Program Reviews and Estimate at Completion Reviews of all active contracts
  12. Coordinate with Finance, Purchasing, and Manufacturing for required steps to close projects at completion
  13. Manage contracts for cost and schedule to complete contract deliverables within budget and on-time.
  14. Conduct monthly customer status meetings for equipment repairs on contract
  15. Manage Government Furnished Material (GFM) rebuild activity by performing receipt inspections, logging (as required) in the CAV System the receipt of the material, and logging the material as delivered when completed and shipped.
  16. Adheres to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

  1. Must be a U.S. Citizen and must be able to gain government security clearance.
  2. Thorough knowledge of Johnson Controls Navy Systems equipment, controls, and operation
  3. BS in Engineering, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent experience
  4. 6+ years' experience in program management roles or related experience.
  5. Good initiative and interpersonal communication skills.
  6. Able to travel as much as 10% in support of projects.
  7. Practical knowledge of how to commission and start-up DX Chiller Systems, Airside systems, Centrifugal Chiller Systems, and Refrigeration Systems is necessary.
  8. Proficiency in Personal Computer working capabilities with MS Office Suite and Project Management software a plus.
