About IPSD

Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. What you will do:

• Align and secure engine components according to work instructions
  
• Install gaskets, seals, bearings, hoses, covers, and visual components
  
• Ensure parts and materials used in assembly are defect-free
  
• Assist in problem-solving and improvement initiatives across departments
  
• Verify alignment of engine components using schematics and part prints
  
• Inspect parts and materials for quality defects
  
• Conduct audits and quality inspections to address known defects
  
• Perform torque audits, leak tests, and visual inspections on engines
  
• Handle shipping, receiving, and invoice verification for inventory accuracy
  
• Ensure received and delivered materials meet quality standards
  
• Repack and organize parts for warehouse storage or assembly area delivery
  
• Operate forklifts and tuggers for material movement
  
• Efficiently deliver and remove materials
  
• Submit and support resolution of C.P.S. Continuous Improvement cards
  
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and area-specific instructions
  
• Provide process information to supervisors and managers
  
• Occasionally participate in training and development for the quality department
  
• Perform any other assigned duties
  

What you will have:

• Minimum of 2 months' experience in a machining, manufacturing environment
  
• Must have the ability to work well with others
  
• Must have general knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  
• Must have experience
  
• Beginner level experience with Microsoft Office
  

What would make you a top candidate:

• Previous manufacturing/operations experience
  
• Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work.
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  
• Ability to perform repetitive operations
  
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information:

• $17.50/hour starting payrate
  
• Monday - Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm
