General Purpose:

To over see the day-to-day operations of the plant. Improve production and reduce cost.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the production, Sanitation, and Warehouse activities. Ultimately, he/she oversees the production of the highest quality dairy products at the lowest controllable cost in the safest manner. The following duties are performed directly or by subordinate personnel.

  • Insure the cost effective and timely production of finished goods to :
  • a.) Meet or beat standard for production, b.) Achieve company quality standards, and c.) Fill orders within company lead-time standards.
  • Manage execution or production schedules to insure customer order requirements are met. Coordinate schedule execution with other Departments as required. Maintain production resource flexibility to meet extraordinary customer requests the management has deemed worthy of consideration.
  • Insure Production is in strict compliance with all Quality Assurance requirements, including but not limited to: adherence to formulations, compliance with product handling procedures (e.g. HACCP), compliance with GMP's, all Federal/ State regulatory requirements (OSHA requirements), and customer specifications.
  • Aid in the development of new products and scale up from production test to implementation.
  • Plan department resources to effectively and efficiently meet forecasts and financial budgets.
  • Insure a balanced approach to safety, quality, cost, and work environment which promptly addresses issues as they arise, minimizing employee risk and company liability.
  • Direct employees in sound inventory control practices minimizing waste.
  • People management- Through training, strong people management, and effective communications, achieve high employee morale, low absenteeism and low turnover.
  • Process Improvement- Provide operational and technical support for process improvement initiatives including improvement ideas.
  • Gain a functional knowledge of SAP business system and practices to initiate, manage, and close process orders
  • Provide SAP support and training to employees, follow up daily production entries and verify accuracy
  • Ensure production employees are properly trained and meet company expectations

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma, required. Bachelor's degree in Food Science and/or Dairy Science is preferred.
  • 4 + years in a production supervisory/leadership capacity in a high speed manufacturing environment required.
  • Evaporator and/or Dryer experience is preferred.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience in a FDA/USDA facility, mechanical aptitude and /or engineering background would be helpful.
  • Previous experience with Global Food Safety Initiatives (SQF or BRC) and SAP is preferred.
Pay Range $60k-$75k based on experience plus bonus

Schedule: Night Scheduled (5pm-5am)
