Production Supervisor (Food/Candy Industry) - 2nd Shift
Exciting opportunity for a proven Production Supervisor to work with, mentor, and assist our production leaders and staff members! Requires a flexible individual who enjoys leading and coaching others and developing teams using strong communication skills!
Position Summary:
Manages all production and packaging activities to achieve the safety, quality, customer service, and cost goals. This position plays a key role in a customer driven manufacturing function charged with continuously improving all aspects of performance.
Key Responsibilities, Opportunities and Challenges:
Responsible for making recommendations for equipment efficiency improvements and maintenance programs.
Ensure the department safety, operational and quality standards are met.
Responsible for conducting, reviewing and managing hourly workforce proficiency, training and development programs.
Responsible for coaching and counselling hourly personnel
Participates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations
Interacts with other supervisors/managers within FPC to share best practices.
Responsible for Adherence to required quality & food safety laws, regulations, company policies and practices.
Plays an active role in recommending and managing decision making with interaction with plant Management
Leads, resolves, communicate and escalate production floor issues to enhance plant productivity.
Interacts with other department's heads to exchange information influencing production performances
Drive continuous improvements in the following areas:

a) Safety
b) Start-up
c) Downtime
d) Quality
e) Line Efficiency
f) Change-over duration
g) Scrap
h) Performance to Schedule
i) Cost

Conduct all required JTMs per shift
Conduct shift turnover meetings: i.e. sup to sup, sup to op, op to crew
Conduct daily pre-shift meetings
Escalate issues in a timely manner
Responsible for the quality and timeliness of data provide for all production reporting and packaging paperwork
Responsible for housekeeping and 5S adherence on his/her shift

Qualifications:
3-5 plus years of proven experience in production supervision within the food, packaging, contract packaging or pharmaceutical industries.
Computer literate, preferably Microsoft Outlook and SAP experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
Superb people and supervisory skills including mentoring, coaching, performance, motivating, and directing staff.
Superb people skills (coaching/counseling, motivation, performance, employee, relations, etc.) at hourly and staff level.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Team building skills both inter and intra department.
Exceptional analytical, root-cause-analysis, and decision-making abilities.
Effective Written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
High-speed packaging equipment application/design, process development, and continuous improvement techniques.
Creative, highly motivated, and self-starting.
Computer literate, preferably Microsoft outlook and SAP.
Ensures compliance with BRC and other relevant standards.
Detail oriented and have excellent planning and organizational skills
High sense of awareness
Must be able to multi-task
Must be able to work in a fast paced, high stress, manufacturing environment
