Position Summary

Supervise the assembly and testing of MEPPI products and the flow of material in the assigned areas and shifts to ensure that quality, safety, and production requirements are met while maintaining a positive employee relations and work environment.
Essential Functions

  • Supervise the daily activities and staff required to assemble and test MEPPI products with emphasis on positive employee relations and in accordance with Company policies and procedures and customer specifications. Develop employees by training, cross-training, and providing continuing education opportunities.
  • Prepare a weekly work schedule and daily work assignments for employees according to the requirements of the production schedule.
  • Plan, coordinate, conduct, and/or attend safety meetings, team meetings, production meetings, supervisor meetings, schedule meetings, and engineering meetings as required.
  • Conduct formal performance appraisals for hourly employees to assess employee performance and help employees improve their performance. Administer corrective disciplinary action, resolve employee complaints through impartial investigation, counseling, or corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain and monitor employee disciplinary action records, attendance figures, vacation records, paid absence records, accident reports, and quality control checksheets, among others.
  • Ensure that Technicians are working safely and are following safety procedures. Conduct all accident investigations involving assigned employees in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Receive and review all job paperwork, including Job Folders, late releases, and MRR dispositions. Assign work to satisfy those requirements.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas. Request special maintenance when necessary. Enforce the Tool Control procedure. Ensure that all tools are put away at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure the quality of assembly and testing work, and promote a culture of quality excellence.
  • Participate in the selection process by interviewing job candidates and/or evaluating temporary employees.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in technical or business field, plus a minimum of 2 years' prior supervisory experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing interpersonal and group presentation skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of assembly and testing techniques, processes, and methods.
  • Developed technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and electronics applications.
