Your role:

MilliporeSigma in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Production Scientist. In this role you will manufacture products according to established protocols, provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and perform operations to support a chemical manufacturing department.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily manufacturing operations in a safe and orderly manner
• Communicate and document status of processes, products, and equipment
• Perform and interpret analytical evaluations of products and intermediates
• Improve manufacturing processes through application of scientific knowledge and principles
• Independently conduct investigations and implement ideas to develop processes and technology

Physical Attributes:

• Wearing personal protective equipment (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes, etc.) for protection from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, and/or vapors.
• Lifting up 50 lbs. and applying significant force to push or pull objects

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or other Life Science discipline with 3+ years' production experience or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or other Life Science discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Chemistry or within a Scientific discipline
• Experience with safe chemical handling methods
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written
• Excellent organizational skills
• Interpersonal skills; the ability to work in a collaborative team-environment
• Ability to recognize and troubleshoot safety, quality and processing issues
• Familiarity with a variety of analytical instrumentation
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite
