Job Description:

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will work the full spectrum of Product Master Data Management (SAP MDG) from governance to tool implementation and system administration. You will work directly with business and IT stakeholders to construct processes for ensuring data validity and consistency across authoritative systems and other data-consuming and data-producing systems. You will ensure the business has the most accurate and reliable core information and by doing so, will play a key role in progressing our technology and meeting Intuitive's vision of minimally invasive care.

As the Product Owner SAP MDG, you will define strategies, solutions and processes for managing enterprise-wide data throughout the data lifecycle, maximizes business outcomes with improved data quality, integrity, visibility, and accuracy. Better decision-making, reduced operational risks, and automate repeatable processes which benefits the organization. Architect is also responsible for the achievement of these goals through the successful implementation of an SAP MDG program, will work with different business units to develop and deploy an SAP MDG strategy that is integrated with IT and across all business units.

Roles and Responsibilities:

This position has responsibility and authority for:

  • Working closely with business stakeholders of all levels to champion data governance enterprise-wide
  • Facilitating strategic decisions regarding Master Data policy, standards and procedures
  • Executing Master Data related projects and initiatives
  • Fulfilling the role of System Administrator for the MDM tool
  • Implement Product Master Data solution to support commercialization, manufacturing, supply chain and regulatory (specifically Med device) processes
  • Performing audits and data validation against Master Data definitions
  • Executing processes and maintenance of various Master Data Management elements to ensure accurate data creation, transformation, and retention
  • Setting the technical direction for the overall SAP MDG solution architecture, define the component architecture, review detailed designs for accuracy and overall compliance to defined architecture across the complete data lifecycle
  • Maintaining Metadata stores for Master Data Attributes, Definitions, and Usages
  • Work with project teams to design enterprise application solutions to business problems with deep cross functional impact and provide design leadership to other team members
  • Interface on a day to day basis with other analysts, business users, super users and IT team members to support business operations and drive change management
  • Perform configuration /system changes to meet business requirements as needed
  • Lead cross-functional meetings as part of requirements gathering, driving projects or providing status updates on various projects
  • Facilitate change management and transition to future state working with various stakeholders
  • Analyze impact of changes to the corporate application landscape
  • Identify, and participate in prioritization of business capabilities and act as a catalyst for building mature processes.
  • Navigate through ISI’s Project Management Methodology and standards to deliver business needs in an agile manner.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

Competency Requirements: In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the individual must have:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or any other engineering discipline
  • Minimum 10+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience in Medical Device, or similar, company (manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, quality in a government regulated industry)
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Data Governance – SAP MDG in a technical capacity
  • Must have a technical background and be able to lead data integration, data modeling, SAP MDG workflow, etc. through a firsthand understanding
  • Proficiency in interrogating SQL and NoSQL Databases
  • Strong ability to self-manage and drive toward high-quality results
  • Thrive in complex, often ambiguous, and fast-paced environments
  • High degree of proficiency in data profiling and modeling
  • Strong conceptual, strategic thinking, problem solving, technical and analytical skills
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Ability to influence peers and leadership stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills in working with both onsite and virtual teams
  • Excellent project management, planning and organizational skills
  • Experience implementing Master Data Management tools -- SAP Master Data Governance
  • Deep knowledge of various data sharing/integration methodologies (e.g. REST, SOAP, EDI, Enterprise Service Bus)
  • Passion for our mission life-enhancing care
  • Prior experience in implementing at least 2 large scale SAP MDG initiatives for multiple business lines/functions
