The Manager, Product Marketing, Subscription serves as a cross-functional leader for consumer acquisition and manages the product life-cycle (through sign-up) for the printing subscription business (ink and toner), a core strategic initiative for Brother. As a growth champion, this role develops and
recommends go-to-market strategies for the channel, integrating insights and analytics. Additionally, this role engages the channel to improve the experience, increase attach rates for supplies programs, and partner with sales to execute on opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Program Management - Acquisition (Subscription)

  • Manage Acquisition for the subscription business including ownership of the product life-cycle through sign-up, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure maximum consumer acquisition
  • Create presentations for BIC (US) and BIL (HQ) management teams to update on performance and long-term strategic planning
  • Communicate the value proposition of the programs and collaborate with the marketing shared services group to develop relevant marketing materials
  • Collaborate to create and execute marketing campaigns to create awareness and incentivize on the adaption of programs
  • Manage various aspects of the ink/toner Auto Fulfillment business


Analytics & Insights

  • Create and monitor forecasts to ensure adequate supply to fulfill consumer demand for ink and toner, ensuring minimal out of stocks
  • Analyze spend and ROI, manage pricing structures, understand sales trends by category
  • Monitor KPIs, attach rates, sales revenue, customer satisfaction for core products to define an action plan to grow the business and improve profitability
  • Create financial models and analyses to scenario plan and evaluate business opportunities


Channel Engagement

  • Analyze and understand channel needs, identify gaps in the program set up and execution, pinpoint improvement opportunities, and execute program optimization from all aspects
  • Act as an advocate for the best channel experience that will encourage recommendations at retail and increase attach for of our Supplies Programs
  • Identify channel partner marketing opportunities, evaluate them, and work with Sales teams to prioritize/execute
  • Create channel strategies and presentations
  • Act as the subject matter expert with channel partners to optimum marketing results
  • Ensure all consumer touchpoints are in-line with business and product strategy


Cross Functional/HQ Coordination

  • Coordinate with eCommerce (including Brother.com) to ensure optimal communication in creating awareness and converting consumers to subscription
  • Engage a cross-functional team in marketing, sales, channel, and IT to deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Build collaborative working relationship with Japan counterparts requiring some early morning or evening conference calls

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Business, Strategy, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years in a combination of the following:
  • Experience in product marketing managing a portfolio throughout product lifecycle
  • Experience managing complex projects
  • Experience synthesizing large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data to create strategic recommendations
  • Experience working on projects involving continuous improvement around products or processes
  • Minimum 1 year Experience working in matrix organization
  • Minimum 1 year Experience working with Subscription models and/or Ecommerce
  • Minimum 1 year Experience working in the Consumer Electronics or CPG industry
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of syndicated data (NPD, IRI, Nielsen)
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders to shape strategy and optimize performance
  • Proficient analytical skills understanding of product lifecycle, specifically with taking a product/service to market
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to present at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across the organization and externally
  • Knowledge on the product/service subscription business model
